At the moment I have the feeling I am every where and now where. It is sometimes a very strange feeling! Do you know that feeling, at the start of the day you know exactly where to go and what to do. During the day “stuff” happens and at the end of the day you have no idea where the day has gone to. It feels that at the moment I’m in the middle of one of those bubbles of “stuff” happening and not what should be happening on my own wish list.
Noticing this feeling and acknowledging where you are is an important step. It means you can do something about it and go into a different direction and make a d-tour as soon as that “stuff” is arriving at the horizon. Do you recognize in time that you have no control over your own time? Do you ever wonder why that is? To be able to recognize that you are out of control is the first important step and early detection is preferable. Because then you can make sure that there are no out burst of frustration to the wrong people and loosing to much energy. These are the first steps towards a burn out, if you can make a d-tour in time it will be an amazing gift toward yourself.
The other big question, why do you loose control is import, because this will help you to make a new plan. To understand how you can help yourself and make sure that it happens less and less. To a moment in time that this doesn’t happen again. Have a look at the following statements;
I love the feeling to be needed;
It is important to me to fit in;
It is really difficult to say no.
These are just 3 examples of course, but this gives you a starting point to have a conversation with yourself where you are and where do you want to go. Personally I have had great difficulties with all of the 3 statements and working on the why and where they came from were real eye openers to myself. The feeling of being overwhelmed and completely out of breath made me a cracky person and of course mainly at home. The place where it is okay to be me, but at that time I didn’t have anything left to be me. The realization that taking care of myself is the biggest gift to every one around me is always a good motivation for me. Finding your own motivation will help you to take your first step as well.
