Change is the name of the game
“Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.”-Andre Gide
At the moment I see, read and feel the word CHANGE constantly in my environment. Of course we started a new year, we all came back from our break. So it is time to find a new balance for this year. Lets keep our goals in the scoop that we are able to manifest them as well. It also feels like we have a need for change, the way things have been going for the last few year is not the way we would like it to continue. It is something we talk about regarding our personal lives, but you see it as well on the news or read about it in the paper. Change is going to happen. This change is going to give us that push, so we are going to be the best we can be.
Change is of course happening every day, even without us knowing. The moments that we consider as big we are very aware of the change happening in our lives. In my personal life, I know that change means most of the time moving. That is what we have done now for more than 10 years in 5 different country’s and 4 different continents. Every time our whole life is packed up and shipped. The change means saying goodbye to wonderful and dear friends, community’s where we are part of and our home. Than we have to make a new start. Sometimes kicking and screaming (this happens a lot because the change is alway going together with a lot of turbulence) and then somehow there always seems to be a new balance at the end of all this change. For some of you it means changing jobs and at the moment that is not always happening because people want to leave their job. Moving house or saying goodbye to friends because the common ground has changed. The big change always comes with a lot of activities and organization. The emotions can run high and it is not always clear who is in control.
It is not really important if we are looking for change or that change came looking for us. This is something that we have not a lot of control over, because the motion has already started. The most import part is, how are we handling the change. What is going to be our attitude toward it? Are we denying it is happening, fighting it every step of the way, being a victim or trying to go with the rhythm of the change? The beauty of change is that this is something that is important and we need the change to take place as well. Even if we think that is not the case. So if you look at it this way, it is not important that we disagree. What is important is; what do we want to take away from it and most importantly where do we want to go with this change? Even if het feels that we have no say in it, there is still a lot of fine tuning to be done.
There are always aspects of the change that is a given. Lets look at change as if we are cooking a 5 star dinner. We are given an x amount of ingredients. It may also mean that we don’t get all the ingredients we think we need to be able to cook this 5 star dinner. So we need to improvise and come up with something cleaver, a solution for the missing ingredients. This the opportunity for us to find something new, something unique! After serving this wonderful and spectacular dinner we have taken a journey that has probably surprised more than the guest that enjoyed this dinner.
Maybe change is not always what we think it should be, but the sweet taste after that every thing has calmed down is something that we never forget.
I’m curious what you are cooking up today!

Change is not always what we think of and it is often not what we expected, but rest assured it is exactly the way it is supposed to be. With every change, we need only find the lesson and the value of the lesson. Return to seeing All is Good and it shall be so.

I guess it all depends on your attitude towards the changing circumstances. If you take the change as a burden you may feel overwhelmed and frustrated, this may lead into you not coping well with the circumstances and messing up with your feelings, emotions and behaviors. On the other hand, if you take the changes as a challenge, as an opportunity to grow and improve, then you may come up stronger.

Very true! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Renee, it depends on the change/s, one undergoes and their attitude towards that change. If its a change, that one makes for the better, than it’s welcomed, if its one that has been forced upon you, then your reaction may not be as welcoming. In fact, there would be strong resistance, to that change. But if one were to stop for a moment and examine the consequences of that change, and how it might affect one in a positive manner, rather than in a negative manner, then one’s view or perception may accept that change, with litte or no resistance.
Look for the “good” or “opportunity” in the change.

For me change is almost scary before it hits and afterwards I am almost overwhelmed how fast everything has changed. Thank you for pointing out that change is a part of our journey and that is what really makes a difference…
