Energized!
“The higher your energy level, the more efficient your body. The more efficient your body, the better you feel and the more you will use your talent to produce outstanding results.” ~ Anthony Robbins
Do you know that feeling of waking up and knowing that you have not slept enough? The day begins with the feeling that you are behind and this feeling of being behind keeps creeping up on you. The next thing then is to try to go to bed earlier the next evening. But then the next morning, with the sound of the alarm clock, the same old feeling returns. What is that feeling? Is it coming with age, or is this about eating the wrong type of food? After taking care of what I was eating, I notice it isn’t the food. I have made a lot of changes over the years in my diet and I know it is good and healthy. I keep track of the right quantity of water, and see to it that not too much coffee and alcohol is being consumed. I could go of course in the direction of the whole age thing, but still, I don’t think that my age is the reason my energy is disappearing either.
It has to be something in my life style that is blocking my energy supply. Working as a coach, this question comes up in so many different forms and thoughts into conversations. I have been reading a little bit more about this subject lately. It seems that in this fast paced world we live in, there is no time for our natural energy to go around in our body any more. There is of course less physical work these days and we have our cars, and other transport to take us from ‘A to B’. With the full schedules we all have, it is hard to have time to go to the gym, take a walk or really connect with ourselves. I am really getting curious about what is happening to our energy. What is it that we need to do, to take care of our own ‘energy source’? It seems to me, that not only the world is running low on recourses but so are our bodies.
I thought it would be nice to challenge myself to see if it is possible to recharge my own resources. Funnily enough I have been reading a magazine and this magazine’s topic is ENERGY. How wonderfully this universe works, it still surprises me every day. It talks about the subject of energy and it also gives us tips to use Kundalini yoga to circulate our own energies. The way it is explained to me is that we have this bundle of energy in the area around ournavel. It is referred to as a ‘rolled up snake’. By practicing Kundalini yoga we can activate this energy within ourselves and circulate it through our body. It explains the 4 exercises we can do to get ourselves recharged. The first four of the exercises are about making an ‘U’ shape with your body. This is all new to me and I am really looking forward taking this up. The challenge is for 21 days to practice four exercises in shape of a U. We begin with holding our posture for 3 minutes and we work towards 11 minutes. This will be a great way to learn and experience more about the energy within us.
Any one up for this challenge with me?

I have tried all these positions, but I am sorry to say that not only can I not hold any of them for any length of time, I cannot even get into the proper positions! It would take me quite a few weeks of daily training to at least create some kind of caricature of them. My fruitless attempts had only one benefit: watching me, my wife could not stop laughing for a long time.
However, the symptoms that you described are typical stress symptoms. I am sure that I do not need to explain to you that stress can have many sources; from being overworked to discontent. Stress is a great energy drain. Remove stress and you rebuild your energy.
I do not want to belittle Kundalini Yoga, far from it. But if you cannot do these exercises, because your physique does not allow it, and you do not want be the recipient of your spouse’s scorn, any form of exercise can do the same. Exercise can relieve stress, and life without stress is a healthy life.

One way to work on stress is meditation. Any time we can eliminate stress it is a good thing. Not getting a good night’s sleep can occur if the mind does not have enough restful sleep so that it can process the previous day’s activities. The REM state is very important to a good night’s sleep.
If you look upon your physical body as a machine that is running in high gear at the present time, it must be downshifted to low gear. Well, you do not do this instantaneously. It is a gradual reduction in its activities, and the body quiets down along with the mental activities in relationship to the mental activities. So as the mental activities quiet down, the physical body quiets down. As the physical body quiets down, then the mental activities quiet down.

Sounds interesting and worth a try…. I am still not sure about the 2 position, it looks difficult. Curious to see if it works for others. I find meditation usually energizes me but there is never enough time in the morning to steal away for that. Thank you Renee….

Hi Renee,
Kundalini is very powerful. It is not something to think about lightly. The awakening brings about energies hidden in your subconscious. I do not want to sound negative but a fair warning seems to be at its place. Only awaken the Kundalini if you believe you can handle the snake running through your whole system touching/awakening all that needs to be tackled!

You know me, I don’t take this lightly at all. On the other hand I’m very ready. Thanks for caring. xxx
