The best and safest thing is to keep a balance in your life, acknowledge the great powers around us and in us. If you can do that, and live that way, you are really a wise man. ~ Euripides
There are days that life just takes over. This week it has been one of those typical weeks for myself. It is of course wonderful to be busy and working with clients always gives me an enormous buzz. On the other hand it start to be very noticeable that there is no time to truly connect with my intuition. The connection that keeps me connected with my heart and makes sure that I’m making the right choices. It is more the case of me just keep going with what is written down in my agenda. This is something that I need to be doing differently. It walking the talk!
I started to sit down had a really good look at my agenda. What was really important in there, where is the space for improvement? It is important to have a look and think about all the things that you really want to do. Are they there, are you still working on the goals you have set out? Sometimes we think that we need to do certain things before we can do the job we really like to be doing. Looking at all these things will keep you focus on the goals and activities you truly like to do. This way your job stay’s fun and energizing instead of taking energy away and demotivating.
The things you can focus on to make sure that you are still on track with your own goals instead of the goals from people around:
Start the day with quite time; Of course most of us start the day with taking care of our family. Make sure the kids have all their gear to go to school, our parents walk out with the right lunch. After that it is time for us to go to work or get ready for the day. At that moment just take the time to connect with yourself. Check you’re breathing and try to find your own heart beat. This can be done any where, while have a shower, in the car, while getting your own things organized. Just turn the noise around you and concentrate yourself on you breathing. When you start looking for your heart beat you’ll notice that there is no space any more for that little voice that just keeps going and going sometimes.
After finding your heart beat and calming down. Just take your time to focus on your own goal. If that is difficult, because you get distracted with the to do list at work, shopping list for dinner that evening or wondering how to get the weekend organized. Just focus on an affirmation to stop your mind from wondering. ” I am always in a loving atmosphere — both at home and at work,” or “I am at ease with myself and I am at ease with other people.”
After 5 or 10 minutes have a check in again with your breath and heart beat. You’ll notice that you are a lot calmer and this will help you again to focus on the goals you have set out for yourself. It will help you to say now if necessary or try to reschedule if there is something coming up you would like to add to your calendar.
