Taking on a role that comes natural to you

Taking on a role that comes natural to you. I was having a really good week and something very small happend and I just choose a role that wasn’t mine at all. I looked at myself and just wondered why I was acting the way I was. Why did I make the choice to act in this way? Really strange when you take a step back and look at yourself, to just get an understanding of what is really going on. It felt like I was held hostage and it just truly felt foreign to me. Some how we get trapped in all these different patrons and roles that we see our family members do, colleagues act in, but these don’t come naturally to us. These are roles we learn along the way, to fit in or to survive in our environment. These are the moments we can hear our mothers voice or our boss, while we are saying something or acting in a certain way. At the same time we go; “OH no, what am I doing.” We’re still organising our desk in a certain way, because our 4th grade teacher was very clear that this was the way to do it and other wise
we would be doomed for the rest of our school carrier. Cooking a meal, just because that was the way it was done at home.

Don’t get me wrong some of these things are really good as long as they feel good. We have to make sure that these roles come naturally to us. We pick up patterns along the way without even realising that we are doing so. Just pondering on this thought, it came to me that asking yourself why you are acting or behaving in a certain way it is helping you to take a step towards becoming more authentic. What are you gaining with your role? Just think of what the pay off is, because you are doing this for a reason. By understanding what you are getting out of this situation gives you a clear understanding on what you are attracting into your live. After that it is very clear to ask yourself is this something you want to have more of in your live? If no, it is time to approach the situation differently. The simple example I got was, if are gardening and you keep putting seeds in for carrots, your will never harvest strawberries. I know it is a silly example, but if we keep expressing ourselves in the same way will keep attracting the same experiences.
Tell me what is the first thing that comes to mind for you?
Lots of love,
Renee
