Authentic me! Second time around

We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started. And know the place for the first time. ~ T.S. Eliot

How funny is it that I’m trying to write my blog and press publish instead of schedule!  Just at the moment, that I thought maybe it is better to publish on a Tuesday instead of a Monday. This cannot become more authentic me than this. Trying to do my best, but then it is turning out completely different. Not necessarily wrong or bad, but defiantly different.

Last week I was blessed with a lot of feedback and the main subject was that it is important to stay authentic.  Being me! The same person who has been trying to be someone else and to fit in with other groups. Getting older has the benefits that you learn that the best thing you can do for yourself is to be who you are. Otherwise it is going to be hard to keep up. On the other hand there are so many times that we just like to fit in and it is easy to blend in to join the group.  Not that there is anything wrong with it of course, because we can be surrounded by a lot of beautiful friends.  It is more in those moment, when we’re really don’t like what is going on in the group.  You have to find a way to stay true to you. Isn’t this what we like to teach our kids?  We enjoy watching the young ones around us, the way they become the personality’s they are.  Sometime we see them struggle as well and this can even bring back memories about ourselves.  Figuring out who you are and how to stay you is the journey we are on sometimes.  Of course there are day’s that we know who we are and be just that person.  Knowingly that this is enough and this is where we are suppose to be.

Being yourself is fun and easy, because it is all fired up by the soul.  Trying to adjust takes your energy away from your own personality.  These are the day that you are feeling tired and you’re not sure from what.  This is when you have been given to much of yourself away and there has not or little given back to you.  It is difficult if you have to remember who to be in different kind of social groups.  When you start paying attention to those day, you will notice that there is a pattern.  That there are moments that you are surrounded with people or situations that just don’t fit with you.  It feels that it isn’t enough to be you.  There are moment that we have to be there and sit thru it these kind of environments, but it is important to recognize that it is going to be one of those day’s.  You can prepare yourself better and make sure that you stay grounded.  We can’t control everything around us, most of the time we have no control at all.  When it all goes our way that is fine, but when it is a negative experience we start to look for the control button.  This is a good time to look for your authentic self.  This is the time that you know that the place within yourself is where the control button is.

Have a go at this and let me know what your experience is with staying close to your authentic self! I’m sure there will be some good stories to tell.

This post resonated with me so much, I was always living authentically but not because I was aware this is the best to do but because I didn’t know how to do differently, how to pretend to be someone else. On the contrary I thought it’s a disadvantage not being flexible enough. I had a lot of issues because many were trying to make me change and I was unable to do it but the bad thing was that I started to believe that there is something wrong with me and I started to feel rejected even of myself.
Now it’s totally different with the awareness I gained from coaching and how living authentically, self-love and self acceptance are the way to happiness and satisfaction. I am living authentically and proud of who I am and how I am and do not care about the opinion of others as long as I am satisfied with my life.
Thanks Renee for a new inspiring post:)

It is so freeing when you can learn to be proud of who you are and stand by that. A quote by Eleanor Roosevelt says it all, “”Do what you know in your heart to be right—for you’ll be criticized anyway.” If you can’t please everyone, isn’t it nice to at least be able to please yourself 😉

Thank you for this excellent reminder, Renee, to stay true to yourself. In a time when I feel pressure to do what others are doing, hurry up and make sure I do this, this and this(!!), it helps to remember that the pressure doesn’t come from others but from me as I compare myself to them. Remembering to stay true to who I am releases the burden I have created. Thank you for sharing this today, Renee!

I still find it bit challenging to be myself 100% of the time. I guess I’m afraid I won’t fit in or the judgement. It’s a work in progress.
    great post.
